Rev Prof Akheto Sema

General Secretary

Rev Prof Akheto Sema is from Sema Naga community from Nagaland. After serving as Principal of Eastern Theological College, Jorhat, he has joined the Council as the General Secretary from May 1, 2019. He was involved in the Eduational Ministry of the Church since 1982 in various capacities until the time he was installed to the present assignment. The first amongst the Sumi tribe to have acquired Doctor of Theology (D.Th) degree and completed the Post-Doctoral studies in 2008, he has a wide range of experiences in broader ministry too. He married Kuholi Chishi and is blessed with a son Pito Samuel.

Mr Samuel Bezbaruah

Finance Secretary

Mr Samuel Bezbaruah is from Assamese community from Assam. He served World Vision India as the Finance Manager. He is also a member and deacon of Dispur Baptist Church Guwahati. He is married to Mrs. Wanphai Hynniewta and they are blessed with two sons – Nathanial and Johanan.

He has joined the Council as the Finance Secretary from May 2. 2023.

Rev Boipu Serto

Mission Secretary

Rev Boipu Serto belongs to the Aimol tribe of Manipur, representing the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC). Prior to his coming to the Council, he had served as the Mission Secretary, Kom Rem Baptist Churches Association (KRBCA), Youth Director/Pastor of MBC Centre Church, and Secretary for Youth & Education, MBC. He completed his BA (Manipur University), M. Div. (Calcutta Bible College), and M. Th. (Torch Trinity Graduate School of Theology, Seoul). He married Wungramwon Makakopo (from Tangkhul tribe) and is blessed with a beautiful daughter – Esther Leishiwon Serto.

Mr Rajib Zillie

Property Secretary

Mr Rajib Zillie is from Assamese community, a member of Guwahati Baptist Church, Guwahati. He has earlier served as a business manager in pharmaceutical company looking after the entire northeast region. With a call from God he resigned from his job and joined the Council as the Property Secretary from 4th January 2018.

Mr Malthyus D. Sangma

Secretary for Justice & Peace

Mr Malthyus D. Sangma, advocate by profession belongs to Garo community of Garo Hills, Meghalaya. Before joining the Council, he worked as a lawyer in Shillong High Court as well as all other sub-ordinate courts in the state of Meghalaya. He joined CBCNEI in the year 2017 as the Secretary for Justice & Peace.
